Looking at Napoleon the bull, one would think he is just young and still has a lot to grow, but at eight months old, he has actually already reached his full height of two-and-a-half feet tall.
Napoleon is an Irish Dexter, which is usually a smaller breed of bull, but Napoleon is even smaller than others of his breed due to a genetic defect.
He was living on a farm and may have been sent to a slaughterhouse due to his size, but thankfully he was rescued from the farmer and is now living at an animal sanctuary in Germany called Schneiderhof farm.
Don’t let his small size fool you; Napoleon is very social and has already made many new friends at his new home. The 100 other rescues at the sanctuary welcomed Napoleon into their herd without hesitation.
“He adapted with us very quickly, which makes us very happy. He also has a lively effect on the herd,” said Lukas Becker, a teacher who inherited his grandfather’s farm and turned it into a sanctuary for rescued animals.
One of the rescue cows, Laura, fell in love with Napoleon and seemingly adopted him as her own. She is always watching over him and the pair have become inseparable.
The Schneiderhof farm is open to the public on Sundays, so anyone in the area can pay little Napoleon and his friends a visit.
