Britney initially blamed her father, Jamie Spears, for the theft, according to TMZ. After all, the elder Spears had been forced to step down as his daughter’s conservator. Stealing her dogs could be a way to get even.
But as the days passed, additional reporting suggested the singer herself might be to blame. According to Spears’ housekeeper, the singer neglected her dogs to the point where employees felt compelled to remove them from her care.

Now the dogs are reportedly back with Spears–and we hope the singer has learned an important lesson. Dogs should never be fed table scraps, no matter how much they beg. Instead of firing her housekeeper, Spears should be grateful to the employee who noticed her dogs needed emergency care.
