In many countries, stray dogs are seen as little more than a nuisance. Some neighborhoods may help feed and care for the street dogs, but others might intentionally harm them or try to shoo them away.

Living on the streets is a sad reality that millions of dogs face, but some kind-hearted people are working to give those dogs the best lives possible.

While some people do their part to help animals by opening shelters or raising money for care, others offer their help in smaller, subtle ways.

The perfect example of this was a boy named Ibrahim. Ibrahim was walking home from school in Grozny, Russia when he stumbled upon two street dogs.

While many people would simply carry on their way and pay no attention to the dogs, that wasn’t the case for Ibrahim. The young boy stopped in his tracks and gave the dogs a big hug. He then got up to walk away, but he had to return for one more hug.

He didn’t realize anyone was watching. He just wanted to show the dogs a little love and compassion – a small act of kindness that can go a long way.

As it turns out, someone was watching – a resident in a nearby building! They filmed the sweet moment and it eventually found its way to social media where it went viral.

In an interview with The Dodo, a friend of Ibrahim’s family named Katerina said she saw the video of Ibrahim when it went viral on social media. She quickly recognized the boy and said he was “very kind” and goes to school with her daughter.

The video captured of the boy certainly lives up to that testament! Check out the sweet clip below:
