Growing up, we often played “King of the Hill” with our cousins and friends on an old dirt pile in the yard.
Whoever remained at the top of the hill was victorious, while the other kids would try to throw the “King” off the hill and into the dirt below.
It was a fun game, albeit, a bit rough. But it’s a game that kids around the world play with – and apparently, not just human kids!
In a viral video taken at the DeWulver Petting Zoo in Huevelland, Belgium, you can see four goat kids playing the game in the yard. Their “hill” of choice? A blue, overturned bucket.
It all started with one kid, or baby goat, who took its place on top of the bucket.
They weren’t there for long before another kid ran up from behind and rammed the goat off the bucket and hopped on top for herself. That started a whole “King of the Hill” battle as two other goats joined in to play.
The goats go back and forth, knocking each other off the bucket. It’s quite an amusing game, and it seems the caretaker thinks so too because you can hear them chuckling from behind the camera.
As it turns out, playing “King of the Hill” type games is quite typical for baby goats. According to Fias Co Farm, “Climbing is fun and games to goats” and they enjoy climbing on a variety of things, from their mothers to piles of logs and picnic tables, and apparently, buckets!
