American actress Aria Mia Loberti and her guide dog named Ingrid have made history on the red carpet at the Golden Globes. Aria is legally blind, and Ingrid is always by her side, including escorting her down the red carpet.

The six-year-old black Labrador retriever is the first guide dog for the blind to walk the red carpet, and her mom, Aria, is also making history. Aria plays Marie-Laure Leblanc, a blind French girl, who crosses paths with a German soldier in occupied France during World War II in the popular Netflix miniseries called ‘All the Light We Cannot See’. The show is based on the 2014 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Anthony Doerr and received a Golden Globe nomination for ‘Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Motion Picture Made for Television’.

She told Entertainment Tonight in an interview shared on X, “This is the first time in history we’ve had authentic representation for a character in a film of this size, ‘All The Light We Cannot See’. It was my honor to represent my community and my culture. It’s never been done before, and that’s a really big responsibility.”

Ingrid was also interviewed and asked if she was enjoying her time at the star-studded event and she replied with a wagging tail, which her mom said, “that was a solid yes”.

The sweet dog stayed by her mom for the entire show and even though ‘All The Light We Cannot See’ did not win, the event was still a huge win for Aria and Miss Ingrid.

Ingrid was trained by Guide Dogs for the Blind, the largest guide dog school based in California, and became Aria’s official guide dog in 2017. The actress shared a post on Instagram thanking the non-profit for her sweet pal.

Her story is also shared on the non-profit’s website with a quote from Aria, “How can you be the best version of yourself? For me, that’s having a guide dog by my side.”
