An Amazon delivery driver is being called a hero after she saved the lives of three puppies trapped in a house fire.
Angelina Starkey was driving in Lake City, Florida when she noticed smoke pouring from a house.
While some people might’ve carried on their way, Starkey immediately stopped and called 911. She waited until first responders arrived and watched as they rescued three Boston Terrier puppies from the home – just in the nick of time.
The Columbia County Fire Rescue wrote about the driver’s hero actions on Facebook, saying:
“During a structure fire yesterday, 3 puppies were saved and revived from smoke inhalation. Thank you to the Amazon driver who noticed the smoke and called 911. Since the homeowner was not at home at the time, she saved the home and the puppies lives!”

Laura Sutton, a single mom of one 7-month-old, was only renting the home so she ended up losing everything in the fire and needed to find new housing. If Starkey hadn’t called 911 when she did, Sutton would’ve lost more than her home and belongings, but her puppies as well.
Laura’s mom, Lisa Ann Dunn, started a GoFundMe to help Sutton secure new housing and help pay for the puppies’ medical expenses.
All three puppies experienced significant lung damage and required extensive veternariy care. But in the end, they survived and were able to make it home to Sutton and that’s the most important thing.
