Rescue pup Figgy is as cute as they come, but he’s just not having a good year. That’s because he’s just a few days shy of the one-year anniversary of his admission to an animal shelter in Pima County, Arizona. A pibble mix, he’s a beautiful neutered male with a distinctive blue and white coat that’s the envy of all of his shelter companions. Estimated to be 7 at this point, he weighs approximately 66 pounds. But what makes him so special is his stellar personality!
Figgy Stardust
According to shelter staff at Pima Animal Care Center, with Figgy, what you see is what you get. Just a straightforward VGB (that’s a Very Good Boy). He doesn’t know much about glam rock and considers himself a more regular type of guy than Ziggy Stardust . . . er, David Bowie. A more solid, reliable pal to be your very best friend you’ll never find. Figgy has caused some confusion among his staff and volunteer friends because they just don’t understand why no one has snatched this perfect pibble up yet! Here’s what some of his best pals have to say about him.
Rescues Rock
“Figgy is a favorite of mine. He is easy to leash and really appreciates his time out of the kennel. He is calm away from the noisy kennel and will sit nicely for treats. He always settles into a nice walk and we enjoy the fresh air. Figgy has lots of energy, so an active family would be great for him.”
And then there’s this…
“Figgy is always waiting to get out in the morning and is so happy to be leashed up. Figgy was being treated for Valley Fever but this doesn’t slow him down one bit, as he loves getting to the park. He needs a home where he can relax and get regular walks and lots of love.”
Adoptable Dogs
Figgy came to PACC as a stray after he decided he was done with life as a rambling man. They could tell that he’d seen all of the wide open spaces he needed to, and that he was ready to spend the rest of his days lounging in a loving forever home. Figgy would like to meet any resident pups before heading home to make sure they’d be a good fit as roomies. Figgy has had a tough life out there and he’s ready to relax in style and enjoy the family dog life for the rest of his days.
