The way that animals can get along with each other never ceases to amaze us. They do not even have to be members of the same species to be best buddies and these two pals are definitely proving that.
This is the story of Max the pit bull and Fred the duck, who have managed to strike up quite the kinship these days. We can’t lie, we are a little bit jealous.
These two live on a farm in South Carolina. While they try their best to remain friends with all of the animals who reside there, they have a very strong bond with one another. They are inseparable and it is easy to see why.
“Max is an American bully. We have had him since he was a puppy. He loves all other animals and wants to play and be friends with all. We raise chickens and quail also and he always helps watch over the babies. He would seriously never harm any living creature,” their owners explained to ViralHog.

Max is exactly what any farmer would want out of their dog. By all accounts, he is a very good boy….the best boy, in fact!
Wait until you get to see how funny it is when he tussles with his buddy Fred. You can tell that he is not trying to hurt the duck and he is all smiles for every minute of this. The khaki Campbell duck has been friends with Max for some time now, as he has been residing at this house for as long as he can remember.
When Fred first arrived, he had another friend in tow but we will let the family tell the story. “We called them Fred and Frank… and then Frank passed away and Fred was left to make friends with all our other animals,” they said. Luckily, Fred was able to bounce back from this loss with a new pal.
“He chases our Beagle and Pomeranian and harasses the chickens, but the black Lab at the end of the video and Max like to play with him. Max and Fred wrestle in the backyard and on the front porch on a regular basis,” said the family.
