Say hello to Cinder, a super sweet girl who spent a bit of time in Pima Animal Care Center’s decompression program for shy and fearful dogs. The shelter can be a bit overwhelming, and sometimes a gal just needs a helping hand! Since then, Cinder has graduated from the program with flying colors and loves her volunteer friends.
Give her a minute to get to know you, and you’ll have a devoted friend for life! Cinder has a perpetually wagging tail and loves getting pets and scritches.
During her time at the shelter, she’s mastered the whole “leash” concept and walks like a champ these days. But, her favorite pastime is heading to a play yard with her rowdy roommate. The two of them are a riot together chasing and wrestling and generally goofing off. Here’s what two of the volunteers at PACC have said about Cinder:
“Cinder is a an extremely sweet girly girl with the cutest little underbite! She is shy at first, but wants nothing more than to sit with you and receive as much love as you are willing to give. She takes treats respectfully, and though she can be a little reserved, she is also very curious. She would flourish in a home with a family who can help her continue to gain her confidence and encourage her to keep exploring the world around her! I love this girl!”
“I didn’t start getting to know Cinder until after she graduated from the decompression program, and I have never found her to be overly shy or timid. She’s definitely bouncy when you are trying to get ready to walk her, and she loves to go to the play yard and run zoomies with her kennel mate. Cinder is friendly and seeks affection and pets and is a goofy, fun dog. She does get a little bit overwhelmed walking in the park, so she needs some work feeling brave out in the world. She’s a great, happy dog who just needs a chance to shine in a forever home.”
Cinder is hoping for a family that will help her adjust to a new environment and will take things a little slow as she learns to be part of a family. She was playful, social, and tolerant when meeting other dogs in playgroup.
Cinder is spayed, weighs approximately 53 pounds, and shelter staff think she’s about 2 years and 10 months old. She’s been at PACC since July 06, 2022, so she’s definitely ready to go home today!
If you are interested in adopting Cinder, or you know of someone who might be, please email pacc.adopt@pima.gov with additional questions or for an adoption application. She’s in Kennel D166, and her ID# is A782712.
