If you think you don’t need a new best friend and sidekick, then you don’t know Jack!! Jack lived in a home for four and a half years before coming to the Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson. Here’s what his person had to say about him:
“Jack is an amazing dog! Very smart. I am so sad to surrender him. He will make an amazing pet for a family that can give him the time he needs.”
This is what the shelter has to say about him:
Jack has done well with kids as young as 10 and was housebroken in his former home. He’s sweet, and friendly, and comes with the glowing recommendation of his former family. Jack also spent about two months in a foster care home. He was crate-trained in that home, and his foster described him as a cuddly boy who has bursts of energy and loves his squeaky toys.
Jack is also a volunteer favorite at the shelter. Here’s what his friends there have said about this handsome Rottweiler and German Shepherd mix:
“Jack is an energetic, social guy! He’s eager for affection and always has a happy, wagging tail when he receives praise. I really enjoy walking him. He loves getting back massages and will happily stay by your side for lots of pets. He looks like a puppy but has some salt-and-pepper graying on his chin–so cute!”
“Jack and I met for the first time and went on a walk yesterday. He was comfortable with me petting his head and neck and took treats gently from my hand. He is a calm, loose-leash walker. I look forward to working with him again.”
“Jack is a handsome, happy boy who I’ve gotten to know during his time in the shelter. He’s always eager to get out of his cramped kennel and explore a bit — he would be a great buddy for a daily walk in the neighborhood or some light hiking. He has such great notes from his former people and fosters, someone will be so lucky to have this guy in their life!!”
Jack weighs approximately 57 pounds and the shelter staff thinks he is about 5 years old. He’s been at the shelter since December 28, 2022, and is so ready to go home! He’s in Kennel D023, and his ID# is A793389.
If you are interested in adopting this terrific boy, please email pacc.adopt@pima.gov for an adoption application or with additional questions. Jack would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to make sure it’s a good fit or would be happy to be your one and only and have all of your attention to himself. If you can help Jack get back into a loving home ASAP, please ask to meet him today!
