Abbie has spent more than half her life at the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, Illinois. She’s still looking for her forever home and, according to the shelter, would make a great furry friend in almost any setting.
Abbie “loves to play games” and is the “perfect companion for an active cat,” the shelter reports.
“One playful cat, one person to give her food, one person to buy her toys and one big window for her to sunbathe in!” reads Abbie’s description.
As reported by Our Quad Cities, Abbie loves to be active. The video below shows her scampering around a laser dot and playing with toys.
“Laser pointer? That’s for lame cats. Abbie prefers to chase disco lights on her exercise wheel like a real cool cat,” the shelter posted to Facebook.
“Abbie is feeling the burn already this morning! Abbie loves being active and engaging in all types of enrichment!” another post reads.
“It looks like she tested positive for disco fever,” commented Janell Calleja.
“Can I get this human size for my 4 kids?? 😄😄. Beautiful cat!” wrote Laura Alicia Azuela.
“omg Abbie 😂😂” commented Amber Simmon.
The Quad City Animal Welfare Center is a no-kill shelter founded in 1977, with the purpose of saving animals one life at a time. We’re grateful they could save Abbie’s life, and hope she’s adopted by a loving human soon.
There are millions more shelter pets around the country waiting to find their forever homes. During this time of pandemic, it’s harder than ever to keep shelters supplied with the items they need to care for pets like Abbie. But you can help solve that problem.
