Living as a stray on the streets of India can be gruesome. It’s a lot worse, however, when that stray is a helpless baby who’s been separated from his mother.
That was the case with Wally, a newborn calf who needed his mama desperately. Sadly, he was abandoned without her on the streets and his future lookeed grim.
As Animal Aid Unlimited shared on YouTube, Wally would’ve been just fine but his owner separated him from his mother and then abandoned him.
It would’ve been a death sentence, but Animal Aid Unlimited stepped up to help.
When they first rescued Wally, he had a massive bite mark on his back, and his tail was wounded and infested with maggots. The poor little calf was defenseless on his own, so rescuers immediately got to work cleaning and bandaging his back and tail.
They gave Wally a safe space to live, and he started to make friends and his back started to recover. Wally was a fighter, but rescuers grew worried when they realized his tail wasn’t healing like it should’ve been.
After some time passed, they made the decision to amputate his tail to save his life. After the decision was made and the surgery was performed, Wally truly started making strides.
He began to act silly and made friends. He even started to play! Wally is living his life now with Animal Aid Unlimited and he’ll never have to worry about being hurt or abandoned again. You can see more of his story and rescue in the video below:
