Hunter was chained by his neck when actress Rachael Rae Robertson first saw him.

The dog could hardly move and Rachael observed that it was very hungry.

When the owner came out, she asked him if he would be willing to sell the dog to her. The owner agreed, saying that Hunter was too much to handle.

Yes, Hunter was so excited when she led him out but his excitement was far different from aggression. He sniffed everything and was so dazzled by his surroundings.

Arriving home, the sight of Hunter playing with toys tugged at Rachael’s heart. Obviously, the dog never had a toy before. But he was really smart, doing high five with Rachael and eagerly listening to her to keep on learning more.

She could take him out for walks, but she also observed that the dog was uncomfortable with men. His fiance told her that Hunter needed rehabilitation due to his abused past.

Rachael admitted to herself that her kind of lifestyle is not suitable for Hunter who needs constant human company. He has so much energy that must be expended for his own health.

Also, he has to be treated for his discomfort around men, perhaps connecting them with his former owner who did not only fail to show him affection but restricted his poor existence with a chain.

Rachael had to do what was best for Hunter, and it was a good thing that someone from Rubicon Rescue was willing to foster him.

Now, Hunter is enjoying life fully at his new forever home!
