When one Good Samaritan spotted a husky wandering through busy streets, they knew they needed to act fast. While many people likely saw the husky, who appeared to be injured, and simply drove by, this one person decided to stop and that made all the difference in the world.
With the help of a friend, they were able to secure the husky in their house and call Hope For Paws for help.
While waiting for Hope For Paws rescuer JoAnn Wiltz to arrive, the Good Samaritan searched lost animal pages to see if they could find the husky’s owner but they came up empty-handed.
The dog, who they named Haku, had lacerations on his legs. Despite everything he’d been through, Haku was friendly and eager for love and attention. JoAnn was able to easily load him into her passenger seat and head to the veterinarian for an assessment.
On the way to the animal hospital, JoAnn stopped to get Haku a special treat: a puppuccino! The dog seemed to enjoy the little cup of whipped cream, likely something he’d never had before.
Thankfully, Haku’s veterinarian exam went well. The cuts on his legs would heal cleanly and he looked good!
He didn’t have a microchip and they thought he was only around one year old. But with a clean bill of health, Haku was ready to head to a foster home and await adoption.
Haku found an awesome home to live in through LA Animal Rescue.
While in foster care, it was discovered that Haku is amazing with animals! He got along well with pigs, chickens, and seems to be interested in having other pets in the home.
Haku is currently searching for his forever home through the LA Animal Rescue. He’d do great with a home where he can be active all day!
