I think if you asked most people about going to the courthouse, they would admit that it is a stressful situation.
For one particular County Courthouse in Maine, however, the stress is going to be lower thanks to a dedicated therapy dog.
According to AP News, the yellow labrador retriever will find a new home in the Aroostook County Courthouse, after completing two years of training.
In an interview with Bangor Daily News, district attorney Todd Collins shared that he believes this is something that is sure to help those who have been victimized by crime.
The dog will also help law enforcement officers and first responders who are under a lot of stress. Local Ryan D Pelletier shared photos of the pup and it’s clear she’ll be a great asset to the team:

There is already an English mastiff on hand at the Colton courthouse, although he is an unofficial therapy dog. His owner, Valerie Eldridge, works at Holton as a victim and witness advocate.
The new puppy, named Holiday, will be focused on providing the comfort that is needed after completing her training.
She was donated by Northern Woods Labs, and the owner of that organization says that dogs do have the power to heal.
I think that all dog owners will heartily agree.
