Anyone with pets knows that there is a measurable difference between cats and dogs – particularly how they react to their names being called.
Cats flat-out ignore you. And if they do happen to respond to their name, it’s usually a glaring stare, like they’re saying, “how dare you speak to me, peasant!”
Dogs, on the other hand, are so much happier to be engaged. They love when their names get called. To them, it’s just another chance for them to interact with their favorite person.
In Virginia, one doggy daycare decided to put together an adorable little TikTok video where they show some of their different canine clients reacting to getting called.
Needless to say, the little pooches didn’t disappoint on the cuteness factor. It was clear that these pups love attention, so when the staff of Dogtown paid it to them, they were only too happy to indulge in their name-calling requests. As the doggie daycare perfectly described it, their canines were “all so excited.”
One of the first dogs to be called was a little black and white-chested dog named Bailey. This sweetheart immediately whipped around, tail wagging furiously as she showed off a doggie grin at her name being called.
The next dog, Indiana, was a little less high-energy but that didn’t stop the pooch from being quietly enthused at being called by name. But none of the dogs could compare to the happiness that was Reed when his name was called.
What was incredible was that in a room full of dogs, each one of them knew their name. Only they would react to their names, while the rest of them just chilled out. You have to love a dog’s intelligence. And of course, there is no comparing the adorableness of these happy pooches!
