The Humane Society of the United States rescued Bear from an alleged-neglect situation in Smith County, Texas.
There, the one-year-old pup was living in deplorable conditions, forced to sleep on bare concrete and exposed to the elements with no shelter.
He was unable to walk and never received help or medical care, which led to his backend becoming too weak. He also developed painful pressure sores on his feet and hip from living on concrete.
Thankfully, he was transported to HSUS’s temporary shelter in Maryland, where he would get looked at by a vet and get a chance to heal from his injuries, as well as a second chance at life.
Despite everything he’s been through in his short life and the horrible way he was treated, he is still so friendly and loves everyone he meets. He has a bubbly personality and absolutely adores life.
When he first arrived in Maryland, he struggled to move around in his enclosure on his own. They moved him to a bigger enclosure, and with help from the HSUS team, Bear’s mobility quickly improved.
After receiving the right amount of space, nutrition, and comfort, Bear is now thriving and able to walk on his own. He is currently working with specialists to help improve his mobility even more.
He is now living with a foster parent in sunny Florida, awaiting his forever home!
