Easter may be traditionally associated with rabbits, but one candy maker is extending this egg-hunting holiday to all members of the animal kingdom.
From March 8 to 22, 2022, Cadbury will be hosting its 4th annual Cadbury Bunny Tryouts to crown this year’s Easter “bunny.” Nor does your pet need to be an actual rabbit to win the competition!
Cadbury’s past spokes-bunnies include Henri the English Bulldog, the “OB” (original bunny), and the winner of Cadbury’s inaugural “bunny” competition in 2019. In 2020, voters selected a loyal dog named Lieutenant Dan, while a sweet frog named Betty hopped away with bragging rights the following year.
Whichever dog, cat, frog, or actual bunny wins this year’s competition will earn $5,000, bragging rights, and a starring role in Cadbury’s Clucking Bunny commercial–just in time for Easter!
In addition to helping judge this year’s competition, Cadbury’s former spokes-bunnies have a few tips for 2022 contestants (who have until Feb. 21, 2022, to enter for their chance to become 2022’s top bunny).
Henri the English Bulldog advises all pet owners to capture their pet’s personality with fun faces. Lieutenant Dan suggests that pet owners explain why their pet is special. Meanwhile, Betty the Frog believes pet parents should submit photos that let their pet’s unique personality shine through. The deadline for entries is February 21, 2022.
“We are thrilled to be invited back this year and are ready to hop in to help Cadbury kick off the 4th Annual Cadbury Bunny Tryouts,” the former bunnies said in a statement. “We can’t wait to see the wide variety of pets who show off their ears. Good luck to all of the contestants entering this year’s competition!”
Would your pet make the perfect Easter “Bunny”? Make sure to submit your entry by Feb. 21 and then help judges pick a winner by casting your vote between March 8-22. The winner will be announced on March 29, 2022. May the best “bunny” win!
