Adoption is such a rewarding thing that someone can do for a homeless animal. Not only are you saving a life, but you’re getting a new best friend all in the same process.
I remember the day that we brought home our family dog from the animal shelter. She was a scrawny little black cockapoo mix who was so happy she wouldn’t stop whining with excitement.
That was over twenty years ago now, but it was such a great day. It was clear that she knew what was happening and that she was getting a forever home.
That is the thing about animals. We don’t give them enough credit. They’re far more emotionally in tune than we think they are. They can feel the same emotions that we do.
And for homeless animals that have spent weeks – maybe even months – at a shelter, it can be a very frightening and defeating experience.
They sit there in their small cages probably wondering why no one loves them and if they’ll ever get their happily ever after. That is why, when the day comes for them to get adopted, it is impossible for them to contain their excitement.
For one homeless dog, his adoption day left him in all smiles and tail waggles because he knew that his nightmare was coming to an end.
This sweet pitbull was incapable of hiding his joy and excitement on the day that he got adopted and was finally able to leave his kennel.
The sweet video, which was posted to Reddit, shows the dog’s tail furiously wagging in happiness. He knows exactly what is coming, and as a result, he can’t stop dancing around in sheer excitement.
It is so adorable to watch!
