When we think about three little pigs, our thoughts automatically go to the fairytale where they are being chased by the big bad wolf.
They hide in their homes and are more than happy to be safe and sound, especially when they get to the brick house.
Things don’t always work out quite so nicely for pigs in the real world but in Norfolk, Virginia, there is a group of pigs that managed to survive the worst.
It seems as if the pigs were being visited on a regular basis by PETA so they could get clean straw and be fed properly but there was a flood in the area.
Unfortunately, the floodwaters began to flow into their pen and they weren’t able to escape. That is when the owner contacted PETA and gave them the okay to move the pigs away from the floodwaters and to a new home.
It wasn’t just a matter of them being moved temporarily but they are now in a special area where they can enjoy some R&R. It is The Blind Spot Animal Sanctuary & Rescue in North Carolina, and the pigs couldn’t be happier.
During their time at the sanctuary, they have been enjoying swimming in a pool, roaming around in the wide-open fields, and looking for food. They’ve also been fed fresh pumpkins and other delicacies.
Daphna Nachminovitch, a representative for PETA, said: “These three little pigs are living happily ever after in their new sanctuary home.”
Honestly, this is something you have to see for yourself to really appreciate. Fortunately, they created a video and we have it for you here:
