Music can help shelter dogs relax and entertain your dog while you are away, so it may come as no surprise that many pups enjoy listening to holiday music.
But just like us, they have their favorite songs.
A recent survey performed by UK-based nonprofit, Guide Dogs, asked 1,000 dog owners which songs their dogs wagged their tails to the most and revealed the top 10 Christmas songs.
Last Christmas by Wham! was the favorite song according to the survey. Listen to it below and see how your dog responds.

Following close behind were Jingle Bells and Mariah Carey’s All I Want for Christmas is You.
Apparently, Fido likes the upbeat tunes over the instrumental or slower songs. Check out the full list of favorite songs below.

33% of dog owners also revealed that they are more likely to alter their holiday playlist to please their dog over family or friend’s requests.
Dr Helen Whiteside, chief scientific officer with Guide Dogs, said, “Music is often used to calm dogs in times of change and stress, so it is unsurprising that it will play a key role for dogs this Christmas. But also we can see from the poll that music can bring out fun moments for dog and owner to share.”
The nonprofit encourages dog parents to play the festive tunes in the car as well. They suggest you start by playing music at a low volume and see how your dog responds. Also, don’t just put music on when you leave the home, or else Fido will start to associate music with you leaving.
90% of dogs surveyed enjoy listening to music and not just Christmas tunes. Owners reported that their pups liked to listen to pop (20%), classical (15%) and reggae (9%).
