Have you ever let your cat outside only to wonder what they get up to? I remember having an outdoor cat when I was growing up. The little rascal had a habit of always coming home with a smug look on his face.
It often made me wonder what he’d gotten up to in the eight hours that he spent outside wandering the neighborhood.
We know that he sometimes got into fights with other cats – we’d often hear them – but those were pretty rare instances. Everything else that he did was a complete mystery.
Of course, this was also a time well before the age of Go-Pro, GPS, and other technological advances that made it easier for cat owners to get a glimpse into the everyday wanderings of their beloved outdoor felines. Now, if some so wishes, it’s a lot easier to find a way to keep track of what their pet cat gets up to when they’re let outside.
One animal lover, TikTok user @lovegailun, gives the world a unique inside look into what a cat’s life outdoors is like, through a tiny camera that was placed on their kitty’s collar.
The footage is incredible, as it gives us a POV of what it must be like to be a cat. And I have to say, some of the footage is quite nail-biting if you’re not a fan of heights.
For example, the footage below shows the cat climbing a tree and then jumping from the tree to a rooftop:

It’s amazing just how poised and surefooted the little feline is in his steps – especially when the tree branch appears to grow narrower and narrower. Then, that leap to the roof – wow! Amazing.
The next TikTok from @lovegailun shows the cat’s POV when a neighbor’s dog shows up:

You can just tell from the cat’s reaction that dogs aren’t his favorite animal in the world. While the dog appears friendly enough and doesn’t show any signs of wanting to harm the cat, the little feline still decides to escape underneath a car and runoff.
Eventually, the kitty’s big day out is cut short when their owner sees them in the road and decides to take them home.
What do you think of these two videos? Have you ever wondered what your outdoor cat gets up to on their spare time? Have you ever tried to track your cat through a camera? Let us know!
