Zeke has spent nearly his entire life in a shelter and is still looking for a home to call his own.
The boxer-shepherd mix was taken by The Noah Center in Stanwood, WA when he was just a puppy. Now, at one year and 4 months old, the pup has spent over a year in the shelter and still hasn’t found a family of his own.
Sadly, Zeke and The Noah Shelter were given false hope when a family chose him to adopt in October. After just a few weeks in their home, Zeke was returned to the shelter because the family said they couldn’t actually care for him like they’d promised to.
So, Zeke is back at square one. The shelter shared the news on Instagram, saying, “Have you met Zeke? This handsome guy is back at The NOAH Center for another chance to find his forever home! He was recently returned to us after his adopters experienced hardship. This guy is a sweet and loving guy who loves affection and has the cutest crooked smile. Come meet him today!”
On Zeke’s adoption page, he’s described as being energetic and playful. He needs to work on his manners and would do best in a home with no small children, no cats, and no small dogs. He also needs a family that can dedicate time to training him since he’s got so much energy and needs a place to put it!
No dog should have to spend their life in a shelter, but it’s good that Zeke ended up at the Noah Center. They’re committed to finding homes for adoptable, trainable pets, rather than euthanizing them when things get difficult.
While Zeke is a beautiful dog with a heart full of love, some people can’t past his high energy levels and crooked smile. For the right home, though, those are the things his family will see and fall in love with.
