Leaving home as a soldier on deployment can be challenging. Not only are they leaving everything they know behind, but they sometimes leave loved ones as well, like their children or pets.
While cats might adjust to life without their owners, dogs are a different story. It doesn’t matter if their owner is gone a day or a year, the moment their special person leaves, they begin missing them.
Thankfully, homecoming day arrives eventually and the furbabies get to be reunited with their owners. Sometimes those moments are captured on video and they’re so sweet!
A video shared by The Dodo showed a compilation of several homecomings, each one with a dog involved.
In the video, you can watch as pets reunite with their owners for the first time in months.
One of the dogs was a 13-year-old golden retriever who hadn’t seen her owner in 6 months! She was there to greet her owner at the airport, and the senior dog acted as if she were a puppy again, attacking her owner with kisses and nuzzles.
Each of the moments was heartwarming, to say the least. It shows how far the bond that dogs share with humans goes. It doesn’t matter if we leave them for months, they’re just happy to have us home when we return.
