I think that all of us will go through frightening situations in life. Perhaps none of them are as frightening, however, as being face-to-face with a tornado.
That fact was recently seen when a man and his dog narrowly escaped being caught up in a tornado in New Jersey.
A video was shared by the man that showed them escaping to the basement just before the house was hit.
The man was watching the storm outside of his home and started taking a video. You begin to see the winds picking up and you can’t tell that it is a tornado right away, but suddenly, it becomes obvious that there is extreme danger on the horizon. That is when Mark, the man taking the video, decided to take action.

Immediately, he took his dog and ran into the basement. After a few moments, they walked back upstairs again and you can tell that a lot of damage occurred. They were fortunate to have escaped with their lives.
That tornado that hit the area of Mullica Hill, New Jersey on September 1 was an EF-3. With the maximum wind speed of 150 miles an hour, it was devastating, to say the least.
There were a number of homes that were damaged and some were destroyed by the tornado that was leftover from hurricane Ida.
According to a local news station, a teacher in the area who was eight months pregnant, Ashley Thomas, said that it only took five seconds for the community to be destroyed. She also was able to get in the basement and is safe.
Mark and his dog are also safe but they are not able to go back into their home because it is now condemned. Many people who watch the video came on to express their condolences as well as to tell their own stories about being face-to-face with a tornado.
