The callousness of some people is absolutely shocking. When it comes to having pets, if you aren’t willing to put in the work that it takes to care for them, you shouldn’t get a pet in the first place.

Unfortunately, not everyone thinks like that. For a pair of pit bulls, Buster and Tilana, their owner quickly grew tired of them and didn’t want them anymore.

But rather than surrender them to a shelter or rescue where they could be properly cared for, this owner chose neglect.

You read that correctly. Their owner literally left them to starve outside in the backyard with only a rickety table for shelter from the elements. They had absolutely no food or water.

Neighbors had observed the two dogs sneaking out from the yard in order to forage for whatever scraps they could find. Their life was pretty bleak, but it took an even darker turn when poor Tilana got hit by a car and her back leg was badly mangled.

The worst part was that their owner did absolutely nothing for the dog’s suffering. In fact, they just left the injury unattended for a whole month.

Thankfully, Sidewalk Specials was able to come to the rescue, but there was already so much damage to repair. Not only did Tilana have a terrible injury but both dogs were extremely skinny and looked like canine skeletons with fur.

They’re hardly recognizable today.

It was so sad but did have a happy ending after six months of intense medical care for the pups. It’s hard to believe the dogs are the same pups rescued from the horrible life.
