When one poor, tiny dog was being neglected and forced to live in a small cage, Sabine wasn’t about to let the dog suffer any longer.

Rescuer Sabine confronted the dog’s owner about Mimi, who had been living in a cage for two years. The owner explained that they’d had a new baby and could no longer bother with Mimi, so she stayed in the cage.

Apparently, they were worried that Mimi would end up getting their child sick.

After spending a month begging her owners to turn the animal over, the owner finally relented.

While Mimi was so happy to be freed from her cage at long last, there were other steps that needed to be taken before she could truly move forward. For starters, this little girl needed to be cleaned up and quickly.

As you would have expected, spending all of that time inside of a filthy cage was not good for her health and she needed some serious grooming.

It was then decided that Mimi was in need of a spa day and we could not agree more. What better way to be pampered and get your groove back after all of those years inside of a cage?

Everyone deserves a second chance at life and Mimi has finally been given just that.

Now that she’s been all cleaned up, she’s got another story to tell. Mimi has been able to find her perfect forever home and her life is never going to be the same. What a testament to what can happen when brave rescuers are ready and willing to step up to the plate!

Mimi is now residing with her new mother, Suzanne, where she is sure to be loved and cared for.
