It’s pretty much been a whole year of lockdown. Yes, we may have had small windows of eased restrictions, but the majority of the time has been spent indoors.
For many of us, we’re probably reaching the end of our patience – there are only so many streaming services that one can subscribe to before it all starts to overlap.
It seems that even our pets are at their wits end with the boredom that comes with quarantine. For Olive and Mabel, the dogs of Scottish broadcaster Andrew Cotter, they had plenty of time on their paws to come up with some new hobbies.
For Olive that meant that the pooch would try to take on the challenge of baking, while Mabel attempted to learn music. Quite interesting hobbies for dogs to undertake, and it was unsurprising that they would eventually revert back to their old ways and continue doing more suitable dog activities.

However, their owner, Andrew, was there to document the entirety of their at-home quarantine adventures – whatever those might be. Each day, it was a new and fun activity to keep the pups entertained. And all these different documentations eventually led to a special little project.
Andrew put them all together into a collection that was turned into the book, Olive, Mabel, and Me. Life and Adventures with Two Very Good Dogs.
