There was a Great Pyrenees dog who was spotted hanging around a town for about 4 months before Megan Allen, an animal rescuer from Los Angeles, California, stepped in and saved him.
She made the 2-hour drive to Buttonwillow, California in order to rescue the pooch who she later named Miles.
Even though she made the long drive to Buttonwillow, she wasn’t able to catch Miles on her own that first day. Miles did allow her to get close enough to give him a few treats, however, he wouldn’t let her get close enough to put a leash on him.
Still, she was not about to give up on Miles. She was determined to bring him back home with her. And that is when she reached out for help.

Initially, the local fire department had stepped in to try to help Megan catch Miles, but the scared pooch was too shy to let himself get caught. That is when she turned to Danny Spanks for additional help.
Spanks works for both A Safefuur Place Animal Rescue, Mad Love Dog Rescue, and the Kris Kelly Foundation. With Spanks’ help, the rescuers set out with unwavering determination to capture Miles.
Their persistence paid off as one of Spanks’s volunteers, Courtney, managed to get a leash on the skittish canine. With the leash finally on him, it is as though Miles understood that the people were only trying to help.
He went along and let himself be taken back to LA with Megan.
A Safefurr Place Animal Rescue
Once the two were back in Los Angeles, Miles got a medical assessment with a vet. Once checked, Mad Love Dog Rescue placed Miles in a foster home where he’s waiting for adoption.
