Our hearts really go out to any animals that have been injured and are suffering. All too often, we hear about it happening or we see it as animals are hit by cars and left on the side of the road. It seems as if this happened in Naples, Florida when a panther was hit by a vehicle in December.
According to the Naples Zoo, the panther, whom they nicknamed Logan, was struck by a vehicle in early December and then rescued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC).
Florida Panthers are critically endangered, and thankfully, they were able to rehabilitate this panther and release Logan back to the wild again.
According to the zoo, Logan “recovered well” after he was brought to the Glass Animal Hospital operated by the zoo.

Prior to being released into the wild, he was fitted with a radio collar and given a full health assessment. He was then released at the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge, which is not far from Naples.
The Glass Animal Hospital at Naples Zoo has been operational since it opened in 2020 and this panther is the first to be treated.
We’re thankful that they were there because the Florida panther is the most endangered cat found in North America. According to FWC, it is thought that less than 230 adult Florida panthers are in the wild.
