If you have never had the chance to raise a chicken before, you are really missing out on an amazing joy in life. Chickens do more than provide us with eggs, they are lovely animals that have just as much personality as any cat or dog.
That being said, there is another reason to love chickens, and that is the fact that you get to design and build a chicken coop.
Although most people with chickens will opt for a traditional coop, that isn’t the case with everyone. Take, for example, Mitzi Ballard. She loves her chickens and even is a member of a public Facebook group, BYC, which stands for “Backyard Chickens.”
She shared pictures of her coop and people went crazy for the design. After all, it looks just like a little western town, with stables, shops, a water tower, saloon, and blacksmith shop. It has so much detail that you can’t help but love it.

People just can’t seem to get enough of this coop and they are passing around the pictures to everyone they know. Some Facebook users have even seen the need to up their game and provide a better coop for their birds.
Of course, if you really want to make an epic coop for your chickens, you don’t have to create the same style. You can choose anything to start as a base for the coop, from your favorite movie to your favorite Disney character – one family even found inspiration from aliens! Just let your imagination run wild and realize that the design isn’t just for the birds, it’s for you.
