It is National Feed A Rescue Pet Week! The Animal Rescue Site along with our partner, Greater Good Charities, dedicates a week to raise as much funds as possible – with your support – to feed hungry dogs and cats in shelters around the country.
Shelters are overcrowded and in desperate need of food donations. Adoptions are down and intakes are up. There are so many mouths to feed.
Help us provide 3 million meals to feed shelter pets around the country, like Keller.
Keller was found on the brink of death when he was just 4 weeks old by Nyxie’s Oprhaned Animal Haven (NOAH). The rescue told us he was, “skin and bones barely able to breathe, unable to eat on his own, eyes sealed shut, emaciated, and extremely dehydrated.”
They didn’t know if he would make it through the night.
The tiny kitten was started on oxygen, medication, and fluids – and pulled through. Keller is a fighter and began his very long road to recovery.
He battled multiple infections, including severe eye infections.
He was brought to an eye specialist to see if there was any way to restore his vision after several rounds of antibiotics to help clear up the infection. He is mostly blind but that doesn’t stop him from playing or getting around.
It took two years for this little fella to heal before he was cleared for adoption. He found a loving family and is now thriving in his new home.
He sends his thanks for your support and so does the rescue. “The GOODS program provided us with much needed food, litter and other supplies for Keller and other fosters so we could focus on getting him healthy. He now has an amazing home and we are forever grateful.”
We are hoping to help even more kittens like Keller get the nutritious food they need to grow big and strong, but we need your help.
Help us reach our goal of providing 3 million meals to hungry shelter pets.
