AUSTIN, TX – Austin Pets Alive!
is ringing in the new year with an adoption special for the dogs and
cats in the shelter’s care. Adoption fees are lowered to $24 for the
first week of January 2024. This includes kittens, puppies, and animals
in foster homes.
Austin Pets Alive!
(APA!) pioneers innovative lifesaving programs designed to save the
animals most at risk of euthanasia. APA! has helped keep Austin a No
Kill city since 2011 and has rescued over 120,000 animals.
“We’re
welcoming 2024 with an adoption special in honor of the new year,” says
Kelsy Johnson, Director of Customer Service at Austin Pets Alive!. “We
are working hard to find homes for as many animals as possible this year
while continuing to save the lives of pets at risk. This promotion is a
great way to start the year by saving a life and bringing home a new
family member.” Along
with other area shelters, APA! is also critically low on kennel space
and hopes that lowering adoption fees can remove some barriers to
adoption.
During
the promotion, the $24 adoption fee applies to all animals at any
location and in foster homes. Adopters of dogs and cats that have not
been spayed/neutered will pay a $100 deposit that is refunded following
the surgery. Austin Pets Alive! is open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
People can visit the main location at 1156
W Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78703, or the Tarrytown Adoption Center
