If your animal organization is looking to elevate the quality of care you provide and improve job satisfaction for staff, the Training and Education Center at Austin Pets Alive! may be just what you are looking for.
The courses are broken up into chapters, which can be completed in 8-12 minutes. Combined with quick video demonstrations, printable infographics and interactive presentations, the courses keep learners engaged. There are currently six offerings available, with more planned for the future. The classes are available for a small fee that covers the cost of creation.
“I look forward to creating quality, on-line, on-demand training content for everyone from the frontline animal shelter worker, to medical staff, volunteers, fosters, and more. After more than 15 years of saving lives in Austin, we know what the best practices are for helping people and their pets,” shared Lindsay O’Gan Instructional Design Manager at Austin Pets Alive! on its website. “Delivering that knowledge in a compact, digestible and educationally sound format is something I’m very excited about, and I look forward to continuing to create courses that will help support the critical work of animal shelters!”
The current lineup of courses available are: Shelter Essentials, Introduction to Shelter Medicine, Radiology Safety Mini-Course, Isolation Procedures and Proper Use of PPE, Preventative Medicine and Vaccines and Dog & Cat Intake Exam.
