I was feeding and TNR-ing strays when a tiny little cat appeared one day. I fed her and talked to her, and then one day, she looked like she had a cut going right through her face.
It took me a couple of days, but I caught her and ran her to the vet. Her eyeball was shrunken and in the back of her socket. They removed it, and sewed the eye socket closed.
They didn’t know what happened to her, but then a couple of weeks later (I had adopted her at this point), she started coughing and I ran her to the vet. They took an x-ray and found a BB pellet stuck in her throat, and she also had asthma. The vet figured that she had probably been shot a couple of times in the face and head and that is what happened to her eye.

Because of where the pellet was, they didn’t want to remove it. She is only about six pounds and has slightly crooked legs from malnutrition as a kitten, but I still have her five years later and she is the sweetest thing ever. She is a part of my family, always will be, and I am blessed to have her in my life.
