Ragdoll cats are known for their striking blue eyes, silky soft coat, and friendly demeanor. They are loyal companions who are affectionate and laid-back, making them great family pets.

Two cat lovers who recently purchased Ragdoll kittens from a breeder in Lancaster County notified Pennsylvania SPCA when they noticed the kittens were not properly cared for.

The kittens had ringworm and an upper respiratory infection. PSPCA immediately responded by sending their Animal Law Enforcement team with a search warrant to the property. They discovered nearly 100 cats and kittens living in deplorable conditions, so they rescued them.

“We seized 92 mostly ragdoll type cats from the residence on Northbrook Drive in Lancaster,” wrote PSPCA. “The conditions were filthy, leaving some of the cats’ fur caked with litter, their noses and eyes full of discharge, and all exposed to ringworm. The breeder at the property had not been seeking veterinary care for the cats, but instead was treating their ailments himself.”

All of the felines are being treated for ringworm and receiving antibiotics. Once they have fully recovered, they will be put up for adoption.

Some are ready to find loving homes, like Riot.

Meet all the adoptable cats and kittens here. Anyone interested in adopting one of the sweet felines can head straight to the shelter.

Animal cruelty and neglect charges are being filed against the irresponsible breeder. PSPCA said rescuing animals from cruelty and neglect is “in their DNA”. For the last 150 years, they have worked tirelessly to save animals and prosecute people responsible.

“Over the last three years, our officers conducted more than 16,000 investigations. These individual rescues varied in size from one to 300 animals and resulted in our officers saving over 4,000 animals. We have achieved a 90 percent conviction rate in cases that involve prosecution,” shared PSPCA on their website.
