To create a strong humane future, we need the power of youth. When a caring young adult found a mother cat with her tiny young kittens at his new apartment complex, he reached out to us for help. He wanted to do everything he could to make sure this feline family was safe and provided for even though he knew he wouldn’t be able to house them all. When he reached out to The Cat House on the Kings, it was during the roughest part of the year for us, as we are overly full and doing our best to help all the cats and kittens that we can.
Our incredible constantly juggling Assistant Director didn’t want to let down this young future animal caretaker. We took in the three kittens and then arranged to have their momma cat spayed and returned to our young finder. The tiny kittens went into compassionate foster care with one of our brand new fosters. Our encouraging new kitten nurturer did a marvelous job raising this feline family so that they would be healthy, happy, and ready for adoption. Now we need to find each one of these endearing kittens their forever ohana.
Like a matched strand of three precious little black pearls, siblings Maui, Lilo, and Kona are ready to bring their deep affection and playful spirit to equally loving people! Each one of this purring chorus of sweetness loves to snuggle up to you for cozy cuddles and lots of fuzzy belly rubs. Maui is the boisterous brother who especially loves wrestling with Kona and is the bat-and-chase champ with springs or anything that rolls! Agile and impish Kona is the speediest up and down the cat tree, and Lilo likes to jump in sometimes but mostly watch the action, usually sitting right next to you! Together they’re a happy trio of climber, chaser, and cheerleader! They also get along well with bigger cats and with kids. Dogs are an unknown. They’re polished to perfection in glistening satiny black and are sure to be stunningly photogenic house panther classics. But it’s their love of their people, fun, and belly rubs that will make them treasures in adoring and protective families.
From their favorite fan, their foster mom: Maui is an affectionate and playful boy. He’s the first to welcome you home with soft meows and rubs against your legs. When it’s time for bed he’ll be by you, purring and making biscuits until he falls asleep. In the morning, you’ll wake up to him cuddling your arm. Breakfast may be his favorite time of the day, and he isn’t shy about it. Throughout the day, he enjoys climbing cat trees with his siblings and chasing spring toys around the house. Wherever you go, he’ll be right by your side, curious to see what you are doing.
Cuddle bug Kona is the speediest up and down the cat tree and loves to wrestle with brother Maui. She’s also the one with beautiful shadow stripes on her long, elegant legs.
From their favorite fan, their foster mom: Kona is a charming and agile girl. Her name translates to lady in Hawaiian and that really does define her. She is very confident and independent, yet can be extremely affectionate when she chooses. She enjoys a playful wrestle match with her siblings and lounging on the cat tree afterwards. She’s addicted to any toy that has a sting connected to it and will carry it around everywhere she goes. If it’s doing work on the computer or folding laundry, she’ll be right by your side trying to “help”. After a midnight snack of her favorite lickable treat, she’ll find her spot in bed with you curling up by your feet.
If you see a little white patch on a silky soft chest, that will be Lilo. She’s also the one who does the most observing, usually from right next to you.
From their favorite fan, their foster mom: Lilo is a loyal and gentle girl. She loves cuddling with her siblings but also likes her alone time on top of the cat tree. Her favorite pastime is catching the non-stop ball on the circular cat scratcher, as well as eating lickable treats. She does well with new people and cats and when needed, she is very receptive to medicine. You’ll catch her staring out the window watching for birds, and if your phone or TV screen is on, she’ll be right there watching it with you. At nighttime, she’ll curl up next to the other cats in bed and occasionally come snuggle next to your side.
