Butch shared on Facebook that Breeze needed an emergency blood transfusion to get her red blood cell count up. It needed to be high enough that she could undergo intensive exploratory surgery to get to the root of her issues.

Amazingly, Renegade Paws Rescue in Savannah, Georgia contacted Butch and said Carlton could be a great candidate for the transfusion.

As I am awaiting biopsy results on my dog Breeze (pictured below right), I wanted to give a major shout-out to Renegade…

Butch wrote, “Carlton was a trooper during the significant blood draw. The transfusion worked beautifully and Breeze’s surgery was successful in identifying the location of his internal bleeding.”

He went on to say, “Brreeze and I are very grateful to Renegade Paws Rescue and hero dog Carlton for the gift of blood and life. Carlton was abandoned as a puppy last year, and Renegade Paws Rescue kindly took him into their rescue. He is currently staying in boarding and needs a foster. Carlton is good with dogs, cats, and kids. He is about 1 years old. Carlton can be active but is affectionate and fun. He would make for a great family dog.”

In an update post, Butch shared that thanks to Carlton’s blood transfusion, Breeze was able to undergo the surgery and they found her condition is treatable.

One more update on Breeze. Just got the biopsy results and….the Pathologist found NO evidence of CANCER! Whew! I am…

He said, “The biopsy revealed ulcerative gastritis and inflammatory bowel disease, both very treatable with diet and perhaps a course of steroids…It’s been a tough two weeks with the uncertainty of how serious the situation might be for Breeze, and if he’d even make it, but now I can rest much easier. I appreciate all the care, concern, and attention Breeze and I have been getting.”

We’re so glad to hear that Breeze’s prognosis is positive! Hopefully Carlton finds the perfect forever family.
