Lisianne, a Canadian woman living in Quebec, first met Usagi when the stray cat showed up in her backyard. She felt bad for the little cat so she started feeding her. Lisianne and Usage soon started to bond more and more with each day that Usage came around for food. The stray would even let Lisianne pet her. And that is how the woman came to give her little feline friend her name.

As the days passed, Lisianne noted that Usagi seemed to be getting a little more plump than normal. The woman figured that it was just a side effect of being fed, and she assumed that she was just overfeeding the feline. She had no idea about the truth: Usagi was actually pregnant!

Usagi eventually went into labor and gave birth. She later surprised the lady with her little brood. The proud mama cat brought her hoard of kittens around Lisianne’s home one by one. As a rescue group, Chatons Orphelins Montréal, shared on Facebook, “She brought her six babies back and she set up her nest at the lady’s house. Their good fairy decided to help this little family and they secured them home in a room. The mom and her six babies were finally safe.”

Lisianne ended up getting help for the little family of felines. Five of the kittens were taken in by the local rescue and the sixth kitten was adopted by a friend of Lisianne. All kittens had a case of conjunctivitis, as well as breathing issues when they were found, but with medical treatment, they are doing well. The Chatons Orphelins shared that the five kittens in their care are three females named Taylor, Tynie, and Tyana; and two males named Tales and Tito.

As for their mother, Usagi, she ended up getting her own version of happily ever after. Lisianne ended up adopting Usagi as well as getting her spayed in order to avoid any other little mishaps in the future. And the cat is now living her best life with her new person.
