Growing older can be lonely. You might lose loved ones along the way, and perhaps family starts to visit less.

Health issues, a declining mind, and other reasons can result in senior citizens feeling isolated and lonely. Thankfully, there are people out there fighting to combat senior loneliness, including one woman who found the solution with a dog.

That woman gifted her dad, 86-year-old John, a rescue puppy named Dolly. John’s daughter documents their relationship on TikTok, where they have thousands of followers.

The daughter shared on TikTok that “Giving him Dolly was the best thing I ever did. The joy and comfort she brings him is just wonderful.”

In one sweet video, you can see a compilation of all the things John and Dolly love to do together.

The two spend time relaxing on the couch, watching movies, napping, and even going out to eat together!

While their relationship is really something special, Dolly is more than just a pet to John. As his daughter shared in a video, Dolly provides John with companionship and a reason to get up in the morning.

Loneliness is senior citizens is a real issue and between his daughter (who double as a caretaker) and Dolly, John doesn’t have to face his golden years alone.
