Unless you start and are consistent when they’re a puppy, it can be tough to get a dog to brush his teeth.
It’s something most pet owners should be doing and is often recommended by dentists, but it’s not usually something dogs enjoy or tolerate well.
My dog absolutely despises getting his teeth brushed. He won’t bite or anything, but he curls his lips and snarls mid-brush. Thankfully, his little snarls actually make it easier to brush his teeth but he still doesn’t enjoy it.
One unusual dog in Bradford, England, though, is the total opposite. Not only does Genghis tolerate toothbrushing time, but he loves it!
According to ViralHog, Genghis’ owner explained, “The video features me and my dog Genghis. In my home bathroom, I brush my teeth when he comes in every morning and paws me until I give his teeth a little brush.”
She went on to say, “He also sits there patiently while I do it for him; now he has his own toothbrush and paste. He has been doing this for the last month or so. The end result was me buying him his own toothbrush and toothpaste and we brush 3-4x a week now.”
She added, “He loves being part of our human life and also thinks he is a human even eats food on the sofa with us, watches the tv with us intensely, and sleeps with us.”
