Many of us have experienced the call of the wild, but we may not have experienced it quite in the same way as Maya Higa.

She is a streamer on the Twitch platform that knows how to interview wild critters and really gets them talking.

These “interviews” have been so popular that millions of people have watched them. Meyer has the opportunity to get up close and personal with these animals because she works for the ZooToYou nonprofit organization.

The facility, based in California, operates with the blessing of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife and the USDA.

Many different wild animals live on the land after being rescued, typically from illegal pet trades. Wildlife that has been permanently injured also is on the grounds.

Those animals not only have a nice place to live and the staff’s protection but also have an opportunity to be Internet famous. Maia uses her interviewing skills to ask questions and get them to reply.

Some of the animals that Maia has interviewed include a porcupine named Boris, a white cockatoo named Sidney, and Godzilla, a tiny tortoise. She even interviewed a hedgehog named Spike.
