If you’ve been to the grocery store recently and you’re a fan of eggs, you may have noticed the historically high prices that have gripped the industry.

According to CNBC, egg prices rose 60% in 2022 alone.

The reason for the price increase is possibly due to a historic outbreak of avian influenza that killed millions of egg-laying hens.

Amidst the climbing prices, people are taking to TikTok to show off their chicken coops. Having chickens has become a popular hobby, but it’s even more trendy now that eggs are in high demand.

TikTok user @blackmommee84 showed off her coop in a viral video that read, “POV: Y’all are suddenly the hottest couple in the city because you have fresh eggs on deck and everybody else getting $50 store bought eggs.”

In the clip, you can see the TikTok user and her partner dancing in front of their coop while holding a small basket of eggs.
