When most people buy a house, they might try to negotiate to get some extras from the seller, like a free fridge or maybe a washer or dryer.

One woman, however, negotiated for something a little different: a cat!

Tori Taillac is a physician assistant living in Salt Lake City, Utah. She recently bought a new house and rather than asking the seller for a discount or some extra appliances, she simply wanted one of his cats.

Taillac shared about the situation on TikTok, saying, “Most people ask for money or appliances during the seller concessions phase of buying a home — instead we asked for one of their cats.”

Much to people’s surprise, the seller agreed and left behind a friendly feline named Loki.

Tori explained in the comments of the video that the seller recently divorced his wife and he was moving into a smaller townhouse. He wasn’t keen on living in the smaller space with three cats, so he was more than willing to part with one of them.

Some people thought it was crazy that someone would give up their pet during a sale, but others commended him for doing what he thought was best for the animal.
