Wells Adams, bartender on Bachelor in Paradise, just lost his best friend – his bloodhound named Carl.
The two have been through so much together and loved each other unconditionally. Carl was a typical bloodhound who would follow his nose wherever it led him and howl at all sorts of things. He even had his own Instagram page.
Two months ago, Adams married Sarah Hyland, Modern Family actress, who quickly fell in love with Carl. They were blissfully happy along with Hyland’s chocolate lab, Boo.
Adams took to Instagram to share the sad news. “Trying to type this through tears, but it’s with a heavy heart I must tell you that @carlthebloodhound has gone to doggy heaven.”
He wrote a heartfelt tribute to his pal and posted photos of him through the years. “Carl, you were such a good guy. A true gentle giant. You were sweet, noisy, protective, and slobbery, and boy did you give the best hugs! You were the best boy I’ve ever known. I hope you thought I was a good dad.”
Life will not be the same without him, but Adams said, “I hope you visit me all the time in my dreams to play tug of war. My jogs will never be the same but I’ll make sure to stop by the trees where the squirrels are in case you’re still running with me. You’ll always be my big ole hounder. I love you. 😔💕”
Hylander also posted about the passing of Carl and wrote, “Our gentle giant Carl, You were our protector, our best hug giver, and the light of our lives. Thank you for being the greatest friend anyone could ask for. I’ll love you forever. You’ll always be my best big boy, dad’s best friend, and Boo’s first love. We’ll cuddle in our sleep 🌈🤍.”
Adams replied to her loving post by saying, “He loved you most. And that made me happy.”
Friends and fans sent their condolences with many remembering the big fella. He always greeted guests at the door and covered them with slobbery kisses.
Losing a pet is one of the hardest things you will have to go through in life. Former Bachelor host, Chris Harrison, said it perfectly, “So sorry my friend. Not much better in life than a good dog”.
