A young boy was moved to tears after coming home from a day of being bullied at school. Being a kid in school is rough and being on the receiving end of bullying is even harder.

According to Junkin Media, the young boy lives with his family in Doncaster South Yorkshire England and his parents wanted to do something to cheer him up after the bullying.

In a sweet video, you can see the boy coming home and being presented with a gift box.

He seemed unsure of what to expect, but when he opened the box he was moved to tears! Inside was a sweet little puppy just waiting to be loved. The boy carefully picked the puppy up and cradled it in his arms. It’s so touching!

Stopbullying.gov reports that bullying affects all youth in some way and the effects can last into adulthood and solutions to bullying are not simple.

Some parents turn a blind eye to bullying, so it’s nice to see parents that do something to make a difference in their child’s life. Having a dog can provide a source of comfort and security. In fact, according to the Institue for the Future of Education, “interacting with dogs helps children create healthy bonds and develop emotional tools to decrease conflict and bullying in the classroom.”

The young boy in the video was gifted his dog back in 2019. Hopefully they’re doing better than ever!
