Puppies can be quite clever, and Lola the rescue pup is no exception.

Dutch, Lola’s owner, shared on Instagram that he rescued her from someone’s yard when she was a tiny puppy.

A whole litter of puppies had been left outside in the rain under a sign that read, “Puppies looking for a good home.” Dutch recognized that the puppies needed some help, so he scooped one up and committed to giving her the best life possible.

After bringing her home, Dutch realized that Lola had a peculiar trait. She loved to hide! At first, she hid out of fear and anxiety, but as she grew more comfortable, Lola began to hide for fun. In fact, she made a whole game out of it!

Hide and seek became a staple for Dutch and Lola, with Lola being a master at hiding. At least, she thought she was!

Lola would hide under the same chair, and when Dutch would move it to look under, the clever pup would scoot along with the chair so she was never exposed. She thinks she’s so sneaky!

It’s been more than 2 years since Dutch rescued Lola from the yard that fateful day.

The two have been nearly inseparable and have changed each other’s lives for the best.

Unfortunately, the day finally came when Lola outgrew her favorite hiding spot: the chair.

She still tries to wiggle under it on occasion, but she’ll have to be more creative with her hiding from here on out!
