When somebody goes to a rescue to save a dog, they typically are looking for a younger dog that will be part of the family. It’s an unfortunate reality that older dogs tend to live out their lives in shelters with no one there to help them.
That seemed to be the case with Rocket. Not only was he 12 years old when he was placed in a rescue from the streets of Miami, but his back two legs were also paralyzed.
It didn’t look good for Rocket, and most people would not take a second look at an older dog, let alone one with such severe disabilities.
Then again, there are some kindhearted individuals out there and one woman saw exactly what was in his heart.
As far as Rocket is concerned, nobody knows much about him or his past. At some point or another, he was likely a family pet but that was probably quite a few years ago.
According to GeoBeats Animals, when rescuers found Rocket he was living on the street. It was amazing that he had lived as long as he did, considering the fact that he was paralyzed and was a senior dog.
Rocket has other problems that he is also dealing with. For example, he is losing his eyesight and that can be difficult for any dog. He really needed to find someone special and fortunately, that someone special found him.
Not only is Rocket living out his days with the kindhearted individual, but he also has a brother dog named Joey. Joey can teach them a thing or two because he is also blind.
Rocket is really a mixture of many different types of dogs. He is half Pomeranian and one-quarter Yorkie. He also has some Pekingese, Chihuahua, and Shih Tzu. When you put it all together you have a recipe for love, and somebody is taking full advantage of it.
