A confused black bear was caught on camera attempting to steal bird seed from a bird feeder but he couldn’t quite figure out how to get it.
In the video, you can see the black bear pulling on the stand of the bird feeder, trying his best to reach the feeders full of seed that are dangling just out of touch above his head.
He attempts to pull the stand over with a few strong tugs, but when that doesn’t work, he resolves to reach up on his tiptoes to the feeders!
Heather Messick shared the video on YouTube, explaining, “Our neighborhood bear is attempting to take down my neighbor’s new and improved bird feeder!”
The feeder is tall and shaped like a light post. At the top of the stand are four bird feeders full of tasty seeds for birds to enjoy.
Other animals are also drawn to bird feeders, like squirrels, chipmunks, rats, raccoons, and even bears.
Some people attempt to protect their bird feeders so they only attract birds, but it doesn’t always go as planned.
It seems this neighbor’s birdfeeder is doing a good job at deterring bears at least! While the bear made an honest attempt, he came up empty-handed in the end.
