When most people go to a vending machine, they expect to get out a soda or maybe a candy bar.

One Walmart employee ended up getting a new member of the family, however, when she discovered a kitten hiding inside the machine!

Lindsey, who works at the Crockett Trace Walmart location in Morristown, TN, called the fire department for help getting the kitten out of the machine safely.

The City of Morristown shared about the rescue on Facebook, explaining that firefighters responded to the call for help and discovered a kitten trapped in a Pepsi machine.

The fire crew could hear the kitten crying inside, so they unplugged the machine and got to work removing the cover on the back to reach the kitten.

When that didn’t work, they searched for another opening on the Pepsi vending machine and finally spotted the little feline!

Eventually, they were able to coax the kitten out, and as the city shared, “Now Lindsey has a new kitten:).”

The fire crew joked about naming the kitten Pepsi, which would only be fitting, but it’ll be up to Lindsey in the end.

No one is quite sure how the kitten got into the vending machine in the first place or where its family was, but all is well that ends that!
